Who’s Siyar Bahadurzada?

Siyar Bahadurzada is an Afghan-Dutch mixed martial artist who was born in Afghanistan and immigrated to the Netherlands in 1999. Fascinated by martial arts since childhood, Siyar started training MMA at the age of 16 at a local Shooto gym as well as kickboxing in Amsterdam under legendary Dutch kickboxing icon and trainer, master Lucien Carbin. At Lucien Carbin’s gym, Siyar honed his kickboxing skills along side kickboxing greats like Tyrone Spong, Imro Main, Tarek el Idrissi, Gilbert Yvel, and many other local and international kickboxing champions.

In 2006 he was recruited by the best kickboxing team in the world, namely team Golden Glory. There he sharpened his kickboxing skills under master Cor Hemmers, the legendary coach of many kickboxing superstars and K-1 and k-1 max world champions such as Semmy Schilt, Alistair Overeem, Gokhan Saki, Stefan Leko, Chalid Arab, Errol Zimmerman, Nieky Holzken, Robin Van Roosmalen and last but not least, the great late Ramon Dekkers who was arguably the greatest kickboxer of all time.

As Siyar’s focus was MMA, he kept traveling outside The Netherlands to the United States to enrich his ground game. He has trained in some of the worlds most respected gyms alongside most respected and feared athletes. In 2007 he won his first world title in MMA at the age of 23 and became the Shooto light heavyweight world Champion in Tokyo, Japan. In 2009 – 2011 he defended his Shooto belt twice in Brazil where he knocked out both his opponents in the first round to maintain his world title. During this period, Siyar trained at Reign training Center and Kings MMA in California where Mark Munoz, Ryan Parsons and Master Rafael Cordeiro were the head instructors. There he trained daily with the likes of Fabricio Werdum, Wanderlei Silva, Shogun Rua, Jason “mayhem” miller, “King Mo” Lawal, Renato “Babalu” Sobral and many other MMA, BJJ and Wrestling royalties.

When Siyar became the Glory World Series MMA champion in 2011 in Moscow, Russia, he not only won this prestigious tournament and $150,000 cash prize, he managed to knock out all three of his opponents in the first and second rounds. That’s when the UFC signed him to the promotion. After signing with the UFC, Siyar was matched with a top 10 welterweight fighter and Brazilian special forces soldier, Paulo Thiago. Siyar made quick work of Paulo Thiago and ended the fight in a flawless victory within the first minute and earned 50K knockout of the night bonus.

Soon Siyar was recruited by the best MMA team at the time, The Blackzilians. At the Blackzilians in South Florida, he was trained by legendary coaches such as Henri Hooft and wrestling Olympic Gold Medalist Kenny Monday. He trained alongside UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, UFC multiple division world champion Vitor Belfort, the great late Anthony Johnson, Michael Johnson, Kickboxing great Tyrone Spong, and many other world famous MMA superstars.

After being hit by multiple adversities along the way to the top of the UFC, Siyar never gave up on his dream of becoming the UFC champion. In 2015 he joined the JacksonWink MMA in Albuquerque, NM where he was being mentored by the most legendary coach and brilliant strategist in the world of Mixed Martial Arts, Greg Jackson. In Albuquerque he trained alongside UFC Champions and the greatest fighters in the world such as Jon Jones, “Cowboy” Cerrone, Carlos Condit, Holly Holm, Diego Sanchez, Alistair Overeem, Andre Arlovski and many more. There he managed to get his career back on track and won three consecutive fights and all three finishes where he got rewarded 50k by UFC for another knockout of the night in Atlantic City in 2018, where he knocked out Luan Chagas with a body kick.

Today, Siyar Bahadurzada enjoys a wealth of knowledge in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. In the past two plus decades, Siyar has not only fought and won in legendary arenas all over the world, he has also trained and learned from legendary coaches as well as UFC and kickboxing world champions. ELEVATE MMA

Although many people think the martial arts are just about fighting, the truth is that the physical “kicking and punching” are really just the tools that I use to teach the more important, and MUCH more valuable lessons about yourself.
